Since 2002 Greengate School has educated and supported bright children with learning differences in reading, spelling or writing. As we have grown, Greengate has expanded its role to serve as a dyslexia resource, training teachers, parents and growing community awareness of the issues surrounding those with these learning differences.


National Resources Include:

The Council for Exceptional Children:
The (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

Disability Law:
Excellent resource site. Pete Wright is an attorney who represents children with special needs. Pete struggled with learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dysgraphia and ADHD. His determination to help children grew out of his own educational experiences.

The Ennis Cosby Foundation:
Drs. William H. and Camille O. Cosby established the Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation to fulfill the goals and dreams of their son. Ennis' common greeting, "Hello Friend," inspired the name of the Foundation.

NICHCY stands for the National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities. We serve the nation as a central source of information on: disabilities in infants, toddlers, children, and youth; IDEA, which is the law authorizing special education; No Child Left Behind (as it relates to children with disabilities); and research-based information on effective educational practices.
