Limited financial aid is available through Greengate, as well as additional scholarship and loan opportunities from outside parties.
Greengate Financial Aid Application: The School uses School and Student Services (SSS) by the National Association of Independent Schools as a confidential, objective third party to assess what a family is able to contribute toward tuition. Our financial aid award decision is made using the SSS figures as a baseline for our own additional review, taking into consideration our total financial aid budget, and the needs of our entire applicant pool. Due to these circumstances, the School will not award more than is recommended by SSS.
Parents wishing to apply should complete and submit the Parents Financial Statement (PFS) found at www.sssbynais.org/parents. For questions or problems, contact the Customer Service Center for Parents at 800-344-8328 9M-F 9am-8pm, Sat. 9am-4pm or [email protected]. The SSS application fee is payable online via credit or debit card.
Completed tax returns, for the past two years, including all schedules, 1040’s, W-2’s, 1099’s and 1120’s (if applicable) are required to be uploaded along with the PFS. In addition, a letter written to the Greengate School Financial Aid Committee, describing specific reasons for seeking assistance is required.
It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure all applications are completed and submitted by the announced due date. The Financial Aid Committee may not consider applicants who fail to provide the required information or miss the deadline for assistance. A new application is required for each school year for which a family wishes to be considered for assistance.
Please note: The Financial Aid Application process is a simultaneous, but separate, process from the Admissions Application process. Applying for Financial Aid must happen in conjunction with an Application for Admission to the School. Financial Aid awards are made only after acceptance to the school, in the form of tuition discounts.
Scholarship Granting Organizations: The State of Alabama has approved funding for students who attend "failing schools", and/or meet certain these funds can be used for students with dyslexia who meet their qualifications to attend Greengate. Please contact the school for more information about applying for these funds if your student is currently attending one of these schools and may qualify for this type of scholarship.
Student Loans: K-12 student loans may be available to qualifying families through Your Tuition Solution (www.tuitionsolution.com).
- This process also functions independently from either our Admissions or Tuition Assistance Application processes, and any loan and repayment plan would be between the student's family and YTS, not Greengate.
- YTS processes applications strictly on a credit basis, and requires 3 years of well-established credit history as well as a gross annual income of $17,500.00 to qualify.
