Beyond the Basics 2009
Do you wish you had a ready store of great games and
activities to change the pace of your reading intervention
lessons and to add a bit of multi-sensory fun? This class
provides purposeful and
well-constructed games and activities as powerful memory aids
and motivators in the structured, multi-sensory language
intervention lesson.
Ms. Janet Jones, creator of Moose Materials, has developed an
arsenal of games and activities to enliven multi-sensory lessons
while reinforcing the concepts students are learning.
Participants will learn how to adapt game and activity ideas to
their individualized lesson plans for students on any level from
short vowels to morphology or written expression. Ms. Jones will
discuss how to integrate and pace games and activities
appropriately. She will present several generic activity ideas
and templates that tutors can adapt using readily available
supplies and old games. Everyone will develop at least one game
to take home.
Registration is limited to the first 30 applicants for the
Associate Level course. Classes will be held at Greengate
School.
